Ukrainians defeat the Chinese

Ukraine's national ice hockey team has won another victory at the IIHF World Championship, which is currently taking place in Lithuania. In the third match, Dmytro Khrystych's team was again stronger than the opponent and left their gates locked – this time they defeated China 9-0.

Our compatriots scored four goals in the first period and actually determined the outcome of the match. The Blue and Yellows added two goals in the second 20 minutes and hit the opponents' goal three more times in the final period.

In 60 minutes of playing time, the Ukrainians made 50 shots, allowing the Chinese to disturb our goalkeeper Eduard Zakharchenko only seven times. Three players in Khrystych's team scored two goals at once - Vitaliy Lyalka, Oleksandr Peresunko, and Ihor Merezhko. Oleksii Vorona, Andrii Denyskin and Pylyp Pangelov-Yuldashev scored once each.

The Ukrainians are at the top of the championship table, having won three rounds with a total score of 21:0. On Wednesday, May 1, our hockey players will play the Spaniards (starting at 12:30 Kyiv time).

And on the final game day, May 3, the blue and yellow team will face the Lithuanians on the ice. Most likely, the battle with the tournament hosts will decide who will win the championship and rise in class.
