The competition is taking place in Norway

Yevhen Marusiak, a 23-year-old native of Verkhovyna (Ivano-Frankivsk region), set the highest achievement in the history of Ukraine at the Ski Jumping World Cup. At the stage in Vickersund, Norway, our compatriot took 11th place with a distance of 216.5 meters. The winner was Austrian Stefan Kraft.

Before that, Ukraine's best result was 18th place. It was also set by Marusiak in March 2023.

It should be noted that in qualifying for this tournament, Yevhen set a Ukrainian record for the range of flight - 223 meters.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, last January, Yevhen Marusiak became the first Ukrainian in history to ski jump more than 200 meters.

A month later, at the Continental Ski Jumping Cup in Germany, Marusiak earned 266.4 points for his jump, outperforming his closest rival by 17.2 points. This allowed Ukraine to win a similar tournament for the first time in its history.

In January 2024, Yevhen Marusiak and Vitalii Kalinichenko reached the top 30 at the third stage of the Four Hills Tour qualification, which was part of the World Cup program. For the first time in history, two representatives of our country qualified for the main round of this competition.
