Kostyuk reaches 1/16 finals of Australian Open-2025

Ukraine's best tennis player Marta Kostyuk has reached the 1/16 finals of the season's first Grand Slam tournament, the Australian Open 2025, skillfully as usual. The Kyiv native confidently defeated Germany's Jule Niemeier in two games with 6:3 and 6:0.

It took Kostyuk only 64 minutes to win. During this time, the Ukrainian tennis player served three aces, realized five out of six breakpoints and won 14 active games.

Marta also performed well around the net, where she won nine out of 12 balls. Our tennis player had four double faults and 17 unforced errors.

For the second time in her career, 22-year-old Kostyuk managed to win a straight set at the Australian Open. The first time she did it was in 2018, when the then debutant sensationally knocked out Czech Barbora Krejčíková (6-3, 5-7, 6-0).

Ukraine's top seed will compete with the winner of the Paula Badosa (Spain)-Talia Gibson (Australia) duo for a place in the fourth round of the competition.

Marta has already played with the Spanish at the tournament twice - in 2019 and 2022 - losing both times.
