UEFA names symbolic Euro 2024 team
The official website of the European Football Association (UEFA) has unveiled the symbolic team for the 2024 UEFA European Championship in Germany. The list of the 11 best players of the tournament includes six Spaniards, two representatives of France, as well as one each from England, Germany, and Switzerland.
UEFA had technical observers at every match in Germany: Fabio Capello, Ioan Lupescu, Michael O'Neill, David Moyes, Alyosha Asanovic, Rafael Benitez, Avram Grant, Paki Bonner, Frank de Boer, Ole Gunnar Solskjer, Aitor Karanka, Jean-François Domergue. They analyzed what was happening from a coaching point of view and selected the best player of the match in each game.
"The tournament team has a well-known lineup that reflects the main tactical trends of the tournament, with an outstanding player selected for each position. When making their decision, the technical observers took into account the player's individual performance and impact on the team," the press release said.
