Tyson Fury tells how he lost almost 70 kilograms a month
British heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) continues to actively prepare for his fight against mixed martial arts fighter Francis Ngannou, who will make his boxing debut on October 28. The Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is known, admitted that he is on a keto diet.
Fury said this in a conversation with his compatriot Dereck Chisora (34-13, 23 KOs), who posted the video on his Instagram page. According to Tyson, thanks to a special diet regimen, he lost almost 70 kilograms in just four weeks.
"I'm training now, the camp will last 12 weeks until the fight. Usually I only train for five or six weeks, but I haven't been in the ring since last year, since December last year. I've lost about 150 pounds (68 kilograms - ed.) in about four weeks just by following a keto diet," Fury said.
It should be noted that the keto diet is based on the almost complete rejection of carbohydrates and the consumption of foods high in fat.
Earlier, Ukrainian unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) ridiculed the Fury-Ngannou fight. In turn, the legendary Mike Tyson predicted "the most shocking result in history."
After the fight with Ngannou, the Briton is to fight Usyk for all the belts in the division. On September 29, he signed an agreement for a superfight with the Ukrainian.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, bookmakers have named Tyson Fury as a clear favorite for the fight between Francis Ngannou.
