Two more Russian Shahed drones enter Belarusian airspace. Route map
Russian Shahed kamikaze drones began entering Belarusian airspace en masse. Another UAV launched by Russia at Ukraine was detected over Belarus on July 16.
At least four similar cases have been recorded over the past week. This was reported by the monitoring channel Hajun_BY.
It stated that one of the drones flew into Belarus before dawn. The Ukrainian Telegram channel vanek_nikolaev was the first to report another Shahed flight to Belarus. The message was posted at 04:10 on July 16.
"The last drone decided to leave Ukraine and flew to see Belarus," the message reads.
Hajun confirmed this.
"According to our data, the Shahed entered Belarus near the village of Belaya Soroka in the The Polesie State Radioecological Reserve and moved north, towards Khoiniki. Then the UAV made a turn to the southeast and, bypassing Bragin, headed towards the village of Komarin," the report said.
The Belarusian monitoring channel claims that the kamikaze drone left the borders of Belarus around 5 a.m.
"In total, the kamikaze drone spent about 50 minutes on the territory of our country and flew at least 60 km. According to our data, no activity of the Belarusian Air Force aircraft in the area have been recorded at this time," the channel noted.
The Russian drone returned to Ukraine at 05:06 as Vanek announced a threat to Chernihiv region.
A few hours later, another Shahed "visited" Belarus.
"At around 8:40 a.m., the 4th Shahed kamikaze drone flew into Belarus. The drone was heading from the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine to Narovlya and then headed for Bobruisk. "Right now, a Su-30 fighter jet of the Belarusian Air Force and a Mi-24 helicopter of the Belarusian Air Force, which were scrambled from the Baranovichi and Machulishchi airfields, are flying over the Gomel and Machulishchy regions of Belarus," Hajun stated at about 10 a.m.
In addition, with reference to Ukrainian monitoring channels, Hajun stated that at the time of publication of the message, two targets were recorded in the area of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, moving from the Gomel region of Belarus.
As a reminder, the first time a Shahed entered the territory of Belarus was on Thursday, July 11: it stayed in the country's airspace for about an hour. The UAV entered Belarus from Chernihiv region near the town of Loyew and headed northwest (towards Mazyr). At that time, the Belarusian military scrambled a Mi-24 helicopter of the Belarusian Air Force and a fighter jet even before the drone flew into the territory of Belarus.
The second incident took place on July 13 and was the longest: a Russian attack UAV entered Belarusian airspace around 3 a.m. and flew 350 km in almost three hours. At around 5 a.m., the Belarusian Armed Forces tried to intercept the drone with a Mi-24 helicopter and a Su-30 fighter jet. The drone flew to the Vitebsk region and disappeared.
