Toyota's budget crossover disappointed experts. Photo
Toyota offers buyers a lot of cheap cars. Budget crossover Raize is one of them. While buyers are attracted by the low price, experts were disappointed with this car.
The Toyota Raize compact crossover is an affordable car with a price tag of around $13,000 for the base variant. The simple car was subjected to the LatinNCAP crash test. The result can not be called good.
The model received only one star. In the tests checked the base modification with two airbags. The body was not strong enough, and the cabin cage failed to provide proper protection for passengers.
Interestingly, this model is also known by other names. The fact is that rebadging (or badge-engineering) is common in the automotive world. Effectively, replacing the logo on a car to sell it under a different name.
In this way, multiple companies under their own name can put the same car on sale. The practice is actually very common and not at all new.
This has affected the Toyota Raize as well. Initially, this budget crossover appeared as the Daihatsu Rocky. And now it has other names - Subaru Rex and Perodua Ativa (for the market of Malaysia).
