The details are reported by Carscoops. The American branch of the company has long insisted on the appearance of such a Toyota model. Local dealers representing the most important region in terms of pickup truck sales have repeatedly requested approval of the new vehicle.
In the market, the potential new product could compete with the Ford Maverick, which costs from $25,000 and is selling like hotcakes. Toyota was just watching the success of the new model from the sidelines.
In addition to the chassis elements, the inexpensive Toyota pickup truck will get hybrid powertrains from the RAV4. We are talking about options in the range of 200-300 hp.
Interestingly, the segment of compact cheap pickups, which are structurally far from their larger "cargo" brothers and are built based on passenger cars, is experiencing a revival. Hyundai Santa Cruz has already joined the competition with Ford.
