"Total psychos": Bellew spoke harshly about the postponement of the Usyk-Fury fight
Former world heavyweight champion Tony Bellew urged fans and experts not to build conspiracy theories around Tyson Fury 's (34-0-1, 24 KOs) injury, which prevented him from fighting Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) on February 17. The Briton stood up for his compatriot, noting that such cases are not uncommon in professional boxing.
Bellew said this in an interview with the iFL TV YouTube channel. Usyk's former rival, who knocked out Tony in November 2018, has no doubt that Fury suffered a serious injury during one of his sparring sessions and demanded that discussions around this issue be stopped.
"I feel sorry for Tyson Fury. Anyone who thinks that Tyson Fury cut himself is an absolute psychopath. Such people need to go to the nearest doctor or psychiatrist. If someone thinks that Tyson Fury cut himself, he's crazy. This is professional boxing. When you start preparing for a fight, you don't know what awaits you. Preparing for championship fights is extremely difficult. This is probably the most expensive injury in history," Bellew said.
