"Time is running out". Joshua gave an "ultimatum" to Tyson Fury
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) said that his fight against Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) should take place in 2025. AJ admitted that he is going to use every opportunity he gets to return to the ring.
"I've been in a lot of fights, but this one has to be in 2025," Joshua said during a visit to Nigeria this week.
"Of course, the fight with Fury has to happen, and I hope it does... Time is running out and it's crucial. So I just want to work harder. In 2024, looking back, I believe I could have done more, and in 2025 I'll have another chance to do that," Talksport.com quoted Anthony as saying.
As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, Joshua expressed his readiness to fight Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs). This decision of the boxer from Watford means that the idea of organizing a rematch between the Gypsy King and the legendary Wladimir Klitschko (64-5-0-1, 54 KOs) may not come true.
It should be noted that last year Anthony and Tyson suffered painful defeats. Joshua was sensationally knocked out by his compatriot Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs), and Fury lost twice to Ukrainian super champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs).
