Despite the trend toward simplicity and convenience, sneakers still raise many questions among fashionistas who flatly refuse to consider them trendy footwear. However, in 2024, sneakers, vintage and colorful options will once again be at the peak of popularity.

No matter how much these shoes are criticized by fans of business and "old money" styles, a pair of comfortable sneakers will never be superfluous in a modern woman's wardrobe. The editors of the fashion portal Who What Wear told us what to wear with this season's "anti-trend".

Jeans and a blazer are a versatile combination that looks appropriate for a walk, a business lunch, office work, or dinner with friends. Accordingly, sports shoes will look harmonious in such a basic look, if not become an accent. Black, white, or beige sneakers without unnecessary decor and high soles are ideal.

A denim suit, on the other hand, needs catchy shoes to add a twist. When choosing two denim items – pants and a jacket, for example – experts advise adding light green, yellow, or other contrasting colors to the feet.

A classic suit requires not just bright shoes, but also matching accessories. A handbag, scarf, or jewelry in the same shade as the sneakers will help create an outfit that is interesting in its contradictions.

Fans of "ugly" sneakers with chunky soles, various decorative splashes, and colors are advised to combine them with such an already boring combination as a beige trench coat and jeans.

A light spring dress or skirt will sparkle with new colors if you combine it with sneakers. Here's the rule: if the outfit is colorful and patterned, choose neutral shoe colors, and if the dress or skirt is inconspicuous, add an accent on the legs.

To create a sophisticated yet casual look, go for a button-down cardigan and jeans to complement your retro sneakers.

Finally, the stylists left a bold combination of leather pants and a jumper, with which they recommend wearing sports shoes that would hint at brutality. Slightly worn, chunky, and non-colorful options, which are available from different brands, will do.
