Ukrainians will play at Euro 2024
The Ukrainian national football team has become the youngest team to qualify for the finals of the 2024 European Championship. "The Blue and Yellows" were second only to Bulgaria in terms of this age indicator of the starting lineup, but they failed to make it to the continental championship.
This is reported by the statistical portal Opta. The average age of the main squad players in eight matches of the group stage of qualification and two playoff matches for Ukrainians was 25 years 272 days. The Bulgarian team was one year younger – 24 years and 278 days.
At the other end of this ranking are the future rivals of the "Blue and Yellows" in Group E of the championship, the Slovaks. This team managed to successfully overcome the qualifying tournament with a score of 29 years and 264 days.
It will be recalled that in the Euro 2024 playoffs, the Ukrainian national team beat Bosnia and Iceland with the same score of 2:1, losing in the course of the matches, and reached the European Championship for the fourth time in a row.
