"Theft": Russian figure skating complained about "injustice to Russians"
Famous figure skating coach Tatyana Tarasova was outraged by the conditions of admission of Russian athletes to international tournaments. The representative of the Russian Federation hypocritically called the reduction of the quota of the team from the aggressor country to one athlete in each program type a theft.
Tarasova said this in a comment to Sport24. The accomplice of Vladimir Putin's dictatorial regime pretended not to understand the reasons for the Russians' exclusion from the tournaments, repeating traditional propaganda narratives about the so-called politicization of sport.
"I want to say it again: I don't understand our suspension. Politics does not go hand in hand with sports. And I don't understand why we are not reinstated. We need to win the opportunity to participate everywhere. Previously, we had three people in each sport, and now, when we are allowed, we have one. This is a colossal theft. One is easier to break, one is easier to win. But we will try. It's a growing injustice to the Russians, who for decades have been the best in all kinds of events and have been leading figure skating onward and upward. There are just no words," Tarasova said.
Earlier, the International Skating Union (ISU) granted Russia one quota in neutral status for each type of figure skating at the 2026 Olympics. Tarasova herself stated that Russians are "used to being punished for nothing."
