The Usyk-Fury fight will never happen: Krasiuk named the condition

The promoter of the Ukrainian heavyweight made a frank confession

The promoter of WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) believes that if the May 18 fight against WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) is disrupted, the fight for the absolute title with the Briton will no longer take place. According to Oleksandr Krasiuk, no one will postpone the fight a second time.

"If the fight does not take place on May 18, I think it will not happen. I already said this before their fight on April 29 last year was canceled. Then I said that if the fight doesn't take place by May 29, it will never happen because of the problem with the IBF. The Turks Al Al-Sheikh and the guys from Saudi Arabia extended this period, but it is limited. Therefore, May 18 is the deadline for the fight for the title of absolute champion," Krasiuk said in an interview with Boxing News YouTube channel, as translated by fightnews.

As reported by OBOZ.UA. Fury underwent an autopsy on February 2 in preparation for his fight against Usyk. The fight, originally scheduled for February 17, was officially postponed.

Former world super middleweight champion Carl Froch said that the British fighter's injury looks suspicious.

After the incident, Tyson issued a statement apologizing for the disruption of the fight and also showed a video of the moment of the injury.

Usyk's team commented on the situation with the fight being canceled with restraint.

The legendary Lennox Lewis, who is the last absolute heavyweight champion of the world today, has already reacted to the megafight failure. According to the 58-year-old boxer, Tyson will need about 3 months to recover.

At the same time, Turki Al al-Sheikh made an official statement about the cancellation of the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.

Turki Al al-Sheikh, head of Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Entertainment, said the May 18 show will go ahead anyway. The organizer of the boxing evening in Riyadh has come up with a rule that will prevent the fight from being disrupted again.

In addition, Turki Al Al-Sheikh noted that either Usyk or Tyson will face a $10 million fine if either of them refuses to perform.
