This old two-seater Toyota MR2 surprised everyone. New details have emerged about the project that united the two cars, as reported by the owner of the car.

Carscoops reports new details about the unusual car. The British enthusiast used a used 3rd generation Toyota MR2 as the basis for the unexpected vehicle. The new owner decided to restore this compact sports roadster with a mid-engine layout, as the car needed major repairs.

But the front end doesn't match this model at all. Instead, it has the "face" of the latest generation Toyota Celica, which was discontinued about 20 years ago.

The front fenders, bumper, and hood were installed from the Celica. The shape of the headlights is also from this model, but they are made by a third-party company that provides parts for tuning. The new owner came to this decision when he decided to go beyond the standard restoration of the original car. The idea was to create a unique car.

The quality of the fit of the elements leaves much to be desired. However, the author of the project notes that the car is far from complete.

Surprisingly, this mashup is very relevant in the context of today's automotive news. According to insider information, Toyota is developing new sports cars - MR2 and Celica of the next generations.
