"The picture is absolutely clear": Russian ex-world champion calls the outcome of the Usyk – Fury rematch
Former world champion Grigory Drozd expressed confidence that Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) will defeat Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) again. According to the Russian, the boxers' rematch on December 21 will be held according to the scenario of the first fight, when the Ukrainian was the number one ranked fighter.
Drozd voiced this opinion in an interview with the propaganda channel Russia Today. The former World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight belt holder noted that Usyk will definitely have better physical fitness and will defend his titles by judges' decision.
"For me, the picture is absolutely clear: the holder of the three belts will put pressure and threaten, add from round to round, and the challenger will periodically explode and gradually sag physically. I think the judges will again favor Usyk," Drozd said.
Earlier, the legendary Kostya Tszyu gave his prediction for the second fight between Usyk and Fury. In turn, the Briton made a categorical statement about the upcoming fight, which was subject to a historic rule.
On December 17, the official ceremony of the rivals' arrival in Riyadh took place, during which the Ukrainian impressed with his appearance. He also climbed into the cockpit and watched Tyson.
Our compatriot also announced his intention to leave the heavyweight division. He answered the question of whether he was going to end his career after the rematch with Fury.
On December 1, an epic promo for the rematch between Usyk and Fury was released. It has already been called a disgrace to American boxing companies.
Before that, it became known that Tyson wanted to arrange a trilogy with Oleksandr to make boxing history. The Briton also accused the Ukrainian of disrupting the timing of the rematch.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Tyson Fury spoke insultingly about Oleksandr Usyk and challenged him to a third fight. British journalist Charlotte Daly brought the Ukrainian to tears with a letter from the Armed Forces soldier.
