WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) said he is ready to fight Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira (12-2, 10 KOs). The Ukrainian added that he has only two fights left and expressed interest in a "showdown" with the mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter.

The undefeated Ukrainian admitted that he plans to first meet the winner of the fight between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker, which will take place on February 22 as part of the Riyadh Season tournament. After that, a "showdown" with Pereira is possible.

"First, let's see who wins the fight on February 22 – Dubois or Parker. And then? A showdown with Alex Pereira. Why not?" the Crimean said in an interview with TNT Sports.

Pereira, like our compatriot, became a champion in two weight categories. At the end of January, the 37-year-old Brazilian challenged Usyk, noting that he would not mind holding a fight against the Ukrainian according to the rules of boxing.

According to Pereira, a fight with Oleksandr would be incredibly spectacular and competitive, as he regularly sparred with boxers.

By the way, the Ukrainian has previously said that he wouldn't mind fighting in the UFC.

This is not the first time MMA stars have entered the boxing ring. In 2017, Conor McGregor fought Floyd Mayweather and lost by TKO in the 10th round. And in 2023, Tyson Fury was knocked down in a fight against Francis Ngannou, but eventually won a split decision, avoiding a sensational defeat.
