"The operation was very difficult": 18-year-old suspect in Farion's murder detained in Dnipro

An 18-year-old man suspected of murdering Ukrainian linguist Iryna Farion was detained in Dnipro. Necessary investigative actions are underway.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. "The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko has just reported to me on the detention of a suspect in the murder of Iryna Farion in Dnipro," the statement reads.

The President noted that the detention operation was extremely complicated. For several days, hundreds of specialists of the National Police of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and other services worked hard to solve the murder.

"I am grateful to each and every person who added more facts to the picture of the crime every day and brought the establishment of the full truth closer," he added.

It is specified that the detainee is 18 years old. Necessary investigative actions and examinations are underway.

Zelenskyy instructed the Minister of Internal Affairs to provide the public with all the details.
