In the afternoon of September 12, Russian occupants fired on the transport of the International Committee of the Red Cross humanitarian mission in the Donetsk region. Three people were killed in the attack.

Two more people were injured. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the president, the injured people are being provided with all necessary assistance. Three more people were killed in this Russian strike.

"Everything is absolutely clear in this war: Russia brings evil, Ukraine protects life. And if someone wants to hear "both sides", then in Russia this is perceived only as permission to kill further," Zelenskyy wrote.

The Head of State said that the world should respond harshly and in principle to Russian crimes. Zelenskyy noted that both countries and international organizations should not remain indifferent, because only together can the world force Russia to stop terror and make Moscow seek peace.

Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, clarified that the three victims were Red Cross staff members and citizens of Ukraine. The humanitarian mission's vehicle came under fire in the village of Viroliubivka in Donetsk region. The Red Cross workers were in a truck transporting humanitarian aid.

Lubinets was outraged that the shelling was already known, but the International Committee of the Red Cross was silent and did not respond to the Russian terrorist attack.

"No reaction, condemnation, or expression of condolences! Thus, this silence only covers the criminal policy of the Russian Federation! The ICRC must officially and publicly recognize Russia's violation of the Geneva Conventions! Is the ICRC completely indifferent even to the deaths of its employees? Or are they afraid to tell the truth?" Lubinets wrote.

The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office clarified that the Russians fired at the truck with cannon artillery. According to law enforcement officials, Red Cross employees arrived in the village to distribute fuel briquettes to local residents to heat their homes. At the time of the shelling, they were unloading the delivered aid.

As a result of the attack, men aged 40, 41, and 48 were killed on the spot. Two of them – 35 and 41 years old – received shrapnel wounds and mine-blast injuries. They were taken to a medical facility. One of the victims is in a serious condition.

Under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation into the criminal proceedings over violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been initiated.

Earlier it was reported that on the night of September 12, the Russian occupation army attacked Khmelnytsky region with Shahed kamikaze drones. As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out in the region. The fire occurred in one of the warehouses for furniture products.

On the night of September 12, the Russian terrorist army once again tried to attack Kyiv. The enemy launched kamikaze attack drones at the Ukrainian capital. Air defense forces destroyed all enemy UAVs on the outskirts of the capital.
