Kyiv has always attracted tourists with its architecture and abundance of trees. In the fall, the city was transformed from an artist's palette to a photographer's camera in the 1970s.

The old photos were published on the Telegram channel of the Kyiv Living History community. You can see what the city was like about 50 years ago.

"Autumn Kyiv in the 1970s," the message reads.

The published photos show the center of Kyiv, in particular Taras Shevchenko Park, as well as a view of the Pedestrian Bridge and the right bank of the capital from Trukhaniv Island.

In the early 1870s, a unique church was built in Kyiv, popularly known as the Iron Church. It was made of cast iron and was located near the modern building of the capital's circus.

In 1870, the Central Railway Station was opened in Kyiv. Its first building was constructed of yellow brick in the Old English Gothic style.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, in the 50s and 60s of the twentieth century, Kyiv used to build shallow and small outdoor summer pools in different districts. In summer, it was a place of concentration for children, where they enjoyed spending a lot of time.
