The "nail math" trend has taken over TikTok: why women are planning to have their manicures done on December 14-15

One of the most difficult periods to make a manicure appointment every year is the winter holiday season in December-January. To make their nails look neat for St. Nicholas Day, corporate events, celebrations with friends, Christmas, and New Year, women often visit the nail technician even twice a month.

Fans of the "nail math" trend shared their calculations on TikTok, and the editors of Glamour Magazine revealed the best time to get a manicure to last until the salons open.

What is "nail math"?

On the eve of the holidays, many women try to calculate the ideal time for a manicure session before making an appointment with a nail technician.

For example, one user explained that her last manicure, done on December 6, should last until December 27, and then she will replace it with a New Year's design that will last until January 17.

This seemed like a good idea to many, if not for one caveat: making an appointment in the last days before the New Year and on St. Nicholas Day can be problematic. Other users shared their plans and provoked lively "math" discussions, and the Fresha salon booking system offered an alternative.

When to make an appointment at the salon

The ladies were advised to make an appointment on December 14-15 to have a fresh manicure before all the corporate parties and other festive events. This is also the best option for those who will not have the time and opportunity to update their nail polish before the New Year.

Traditionally, office Christmas parties are held on Thursday or Friday of the second week of December, December 14 and 15, 2023. The third week of the month is mostly dedicated to celebrating with friends and family.

However, it's worth noting that Thursday and Friday are the busiest days in salons as women often want to redo their nails before the weekend without spending precious days of rest. And the best time to make an appointment, according to experts, is 12-14 p.m.

Ladies use their lunch break to quickly run to the salon and return to work. Thus, by the evening corporate party, they will already have an updated design that will last an average of three weeks, and thus until the opening of all salons in the new year.
