The Spanish edition of Marca has published an insight

Ukraine's goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is not extending his contract with Real Madrid, according to the authoritative Spanish publication Marca. The Royal Club's contract with the 25-year-old native of Krasnohrad is valid until the summer of 2025.

According to the press, the management of the "creamy ones" expects Lunin to work out the current agreement to the end. After that, there are two options for our compatriot: extending the agreement or moving to another team.

Earlier, El Gol Digital reported that Andriy had allegedly finally decided to leave Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. The footballer did not agree to extend his contract with the "royal club" until 2029 because of doubts that he would receive more playing time in the new season.

Journalists say that Lunin has a cold relationship with Ancelotti. The Ukrainian is confident that his performance last season proved his right to compete for the No. 1 position, but the Italian will still rely on Courtois.

On June 14, it became known that Real Madrid had begun preparations for the possible departure of the Ukrainian national team goalkeeper from the club.

Before playing at Euro 2024, Juventus of Italy and Manchester United of England wanted to see the Ukrainian in their ranks, and they were ready to pay 40 million euros for Andriy. And the last to show interest in him was London's Arsenal.

Lunin was recognized as the worst player of the Ukrainian national team at the 2024 European Championships (3.80 from Who Scored and 4.90 from SofaScore). It was his two productive mistakes that led to goals from Romania, after which Rebrov put the player on the bench.
