The event of the year and the best boxer! Usyk made a splash in London, winning three awards. Video
An award ceremony from The Ring magazine took place in London, summarizing the results of the year in boxing. The WBC, WBO, WBA and IBO world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) collected three awards at once.
Our compatriot received the prize for the best round of 2024. It was the 9th three-minute round in the first fight against Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs).
In this episode, the Ukrainian boxer knocked the Briton out. The fight itself ended with Usyk's victory by split decision, making the Ukrainian the first absolute heavyweight champion in the last 25 years.
In addition, Oleksandr won the Event of the Year award for his first fight against Tyson Fury.
Oleksandr Usyk also won the prize as the best boxer of 2024. Commenting on his award, the Ukrainian thanked God, his team and family. He noted that this success is very important for his country. Oleksandr also sent a special greeting to Tyson Fury.
"My friend, my greedy belly, thank you very much. You're great, my opponent," Usyk said.

Knockout of the Year - Daniel Dubois in the fight with Anthony Joshua.
Comeback of the Year - Billy Dib
Upset of the Year - the victory of Frenchman Bruno Surache (26-0-2, 5 KOs) over Mexican Jaime Munguia (44-2, 35 KOs). Surache was knocked down in the 2nd round, but was able to get up and sensationally knock out his opponent.
Prospect of the Year - Moses Itauma
Coach of the Year - Robert Garcia
Boxer of the Year - Gabriela Fundora
