Lithuania has tightened control over grain imports from the terrorist countries of Russia and Belarus. An investigation is currently underway into the origin of the grain imported into the country.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Lithuania initiated this investigation. This is stated on the website of the Lithuanian Ministry.

This was preceded by information from the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine that Russia was profiting from the export of grain from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to third countries.

Therefore, from now on, grain for feeding livestock and feed products from high-risk areas will be inspected. These areas include, in particular, Russia, Belarus, and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Samples will be taken from every wagon or vehicle that imports grain from these territories.

"Russia should not have the opportunity to use Lithuania's infrastructure and profit from the sale of Ukrainian grain," the Lithuanian Minister of Agriculture said.

As previously reported by OBOZ.UA, France will demand that the European Union (EU) impose common restrictions on imports from Ukraine. Even with the continued liberalization of trade, it is proposed to introduce quotas on Ukrainian grain, in particular wheat and barley.
