The fight took place on May 18

Keith Connolly, the manager of mandatory IBF heavyweight title challenger Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs), said that Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) had an agreement with Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) that the winner cannot keep the IBF belt for a rematch. On May 19, it became known that Usyk would remain the absolute champion only until June 1, 2024, as the mandatory defense of the IBF title against Filip Hrgovic was overdue.

"Filip has been a mandatory challenger for many years. Fury and Usyk agreed before the fight that the winner would keep the championship belt. If this does not happen by Saturday, the agreement will be broken," Dan Rafael quoted Connolly as saying.
