Stylist rated the looks of alyona alyona and Jerry Heil at the National Selection 2024 and gave advice for the main perfomance at the Eurovision: the raincoat looks out of place

The winners of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, alyona alyona and Jerry Heil, appeared on stage in total-black looks. However, the choice of their stylists caused controversial impressions among the audience. Khrystyna Alekseichuk, a lecturer at the Andre Tan Academy of Style and Design, analyzed the artists' outfits and shared her opinion.

In her commentary to OBOZ.UA, the fashion expert said that the outerwear on Alyona Alyona looks inappropriate, in her opinion. Nevertheless, the stylist liked other elements of the outfits.

Although some European fans have questioned the appropriateness of black clothes, Khrystyna Alekseichuk doesn't see it as a problem. According to her, the charcoal shade symbolizes the depth of thought and emphasizes the importance of what the performers sing about. She also noted that black is the color of choice in both festive dress codes and mourning.

"It's interesting that their looks are different in style and reveal the individuality of each. alyona alyona wore relaxed clothes that characterized her as a rap singer, while Jerry Heil wore a pantsuit with a jacket that was quite structured and accentuated her shoulders and waist. The set looked quite serious and restrained. A sheer chiffon skirt worn over the pants added lightness to the look," the style expert explained.

She sees national motifs in the performers' accessories and the seams on the rapper's clothes. Khrystyna expressed hope that the final outfits of the singers will also use elements of Ukrainian costumes.

"The only question I have about the looks is about the alyona alyona cloak. It adds unnecessary bulk, and as an element of outerwear during an important performance, in my opinion, it looks inappropriate. I know that my colleagues explain it as a desire to protect oneself and distract from the audience. It may also mean relaxation, but I think it actually reflects the preferences of the performer herself and her freedom of thought," the stylist said.

In conclusion, she emphasized that a lot can be said with the help of clothes: both to express hope for a brighter future (with gentle, light shades) and to show resistance to military actions.

According to the expert, the stylists of the singers have an important task: to draw attention to our country and the struggle for freedom, which can be done not only with good slogans and meaningful songs but also with their appearance.
