Frank Warren, the promoter of Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs), is outraged by the criticism of his client over the postponement of the fight against Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. The Gypsy King's representative noted that the boxer really needs rest after the fight with Francis Ngannou (0-1, 0 KOs).
Warren said this in an interview with the Seconds Out YouTube channel, Boxing Scene reports. At the same time, Tyson's promoter noted that Fury did not suffer any serious injuries in the fight against Ngannou, and it was all about the intense training camp before the show, which took place on October 28.
"It's not that he was seriously injured. He was in camp for 12 weeks before the fight. He is a professional boxer of the highest level. He fought an unknown guy who actually turned out to be a very good opponent. He needs to let his body recover and return to his camp. That's why the fight is postponed for two months. It doesn't really matter. So stop talking all this nonsense and quoting haters. The contract is signed. It's going to happen, it's going to be interesting," Warren said.
We would like to remind you that the Gypsy King defeated Ngannou only by a split decision, and in the third round he was knocked down. This is the seventh time in his career that the Briton has been knocked down.
It was planned that immediately after the Fury vs Ngannou fight, the date of the British champion's fight with Usyk would be announced. However, due to the autopsy and other injuries to the winner, this was not done. The photos show how Tyson looked like after 33 missed punches in the fight.
The media outlet announced a new date for the fight and claimed that the British boxer faces a $240 million lawsuit if he refuses to fight Usyk on December 23. A video of Oleksandr's reaction to Tyson's knockdown in the third round of the fight with Francis was also posted online.
As OBOZ.UA reported, Oleksandr Usyk did not disclose his tactical plan for the fight with Tyson Fury. In addition, it became known that the Ukrainian is being set up for a fight against the Briton. Also, bookmakers have dramatically changed their quotes for the confrontation.
