Sochi residents complain of a dozen powerful explosions in the region
On December 21, Russia complained of an air attack. In the Sochi region of the Krasnodar Territory, local residents heard up to a dozen powerful explosions, which "shook the windows and set off the car alarms."
The Tuapse region, where, among other things, an oil refinery is located, was also affected. This was reported by Russian propaganda channels.
"A series of explosions thundered in Sochi. According to preliminary data, the air defense system was triggered," one of them informed its audience of more than 1.2 million subscribers.
Residents of Sochi and the surrounding area, according to the propagandists, heard a series of powerful explosions early in the morning.
"Local residents said that starting at 5:50 a.m., they heard 7 to 10 explosions in the Lazarevskoye district, which caused the windows to shake and car alarms to go off. Residents of Tuapse also reported loud detonations," the channel claims.
The propagandists also added that Russian air defense was allegedly targeting drones in the waters.
"There is currently no official information about the destruction and casualties," the post reads.
Tuapse, among other things, is home to the Tuapse Refinery, part of Rosneft. According to open sources, 90% of its products are exported.
In May and July of this year, Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has already hit the enterprise with drones.
In their comments on the report of the explosions, the Russians suggested that it is the port that could have been the target.
To recap, on the night of December 21, Russians also complained about a massive attack on Rylsk in the Kursk region with ATACMS missiles. The strike reportedly resulted in deaths and injuries, and the city was left without power.
