A well-known insider Fabrizio Romano believes that Shakhtar midfielder Georgy Sudakov will become a new star of Ukrainian football. The Italian journalist expressed this opinion after the Champions League match against Barcelona, where Georgy scored a goal.

"The first goal in the Champions League for Georgiy Sudakov, a talent born in 2002. "Shakhtar are already going to demand a huge sum for their new pearl. Leading European clubs continue to follow him, including Juventus scouts," Romano wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Shakhtar Donetsk lost to Barcelona in the third round of the Champions League. The match at the Lewis Kumpansh Olympic Stadium in the capital of Catalonia ended with a score of 2:1.

In the 62nd minute, Sudakov cannonballs the ball past Ter Stegen and into the net for his Champions League debut.

It should be reminded that Sudakov was born in 2002 in Bryanka, Luhansk region. In the 2018/19 season, he made his debut in the Ukrainian youth championship, and the following season - in the country's youth championship.

He made his debut in the Ukrainian league on October 24, 2020, in a match against Vorskla Poltava (1-1). He scored his first goal for Shakhtar in the Ukrainian league on October 30, 2020, in a home match against Mariupol (4-1).

In the 2022/23 season, Sudakov played 39 matches at the club level, scoring 5 goals and providing 11 assists. He played all six matches of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League 2022/23, making two assists, and was named one of the top 40 young talents of the year by UEFA.
