Sales of cheap cars have fallen in Ukraine: what is the average age of cars

Demand for used cars in Ukraine has fallen significantly. At least, this is what the statistics of early 2025 show, although buyers traditionally prefer foreign used cars because of their cheapness.

The average age of used cars has also become known. According to Ukrautoprom, in January 2025, Ukrainians registered 14,000 cars. This is 16% less than in January 2024. The average age of the cars was 10 years.

Here are the most popular used cars since the beginning of 2025:

1. Volkswagen Golf – 714 units;
2. Skoda Octavia – 543 units;
3. Renault Megane – 527 units;
4. Volkswagen Tiguan – 407 units;
5. Audi Q5 – 395 units;
6. Volkswagen Passat – 359 units;
7. Nissan Leaf – 355 units;
8. Tesla Model Y – 341 units;
9. Nissan Rogue – 322 units;
10. Tesla Model 3 – 312 units.

The largest share of used cars imported from abroad was taken by gasoline cars – 46.6%. Hybrids (4.5%) and cars with LPG (4%) accounted for the smallest share.
