Sacha Baron Cohen may play the antagonist in the new Spider-Man movie: who will it be
Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen remains one of the few Hollywood stars who have not yet joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It looks like this will change soon.
According to the Word of Reel blog, the long-standing rumors about his involvement in the large-scale franchise may come true in the fourth part of Spider-Man adventures performed by Tom Holland. Moreover, Cohen will most likely be entrusted with the role of the villain Mephisto in the film.
Earlier it was reported that Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige was considering the appearance of this character in the series It's All Agatha or Ironheart. However, according to insiders, Mephisto will be featured in the new part of Spiderman's adventures.
The one who will lose her usual role in the new movie is Zendaya, who plays Peter Parker's lover Michelle Jones. The scope of her participation will be quite small and will be reduced to a secondary role because the actress is currently very busy with other projects, including the sequels to the Euphoria series and the Dune movie, and cannot devote much time to Marvel.
Instead, other stars may appear in the cast of the fourth installment. There are rumors that Charlie Cox will play Daredevil in Spider-Man 4. Daredevil. Tom Hardy and his Venom are also expected to appear on the set.
The next Spider-Man movie will be directed by Daniel Destin Cretton, who was previously responsible for the production of Shang-Chi. The production of the new part should start in 2025, and the premiere is scheduled for 2026 and should be released after the return of The Avengers.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that Chris Evans, who managed to move away from the image of Captain America and hand it over to Anthony Mackie, is expected to return to The Avengers.
