Russia's propaganda outlets spread fake news that Usyk betrayed Ukraine and fled to Spain
Russian propaganda outlets have started spreading information that unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) is allegedly trying to obtain a residence permit in Spain. The so-called journalists provided a photo of our compatriot as evidence.
The picture was published by the Telegram channel "Operative Bulletins", which actively supports Russia's criminal war against Ukraine and is engaged in fake news aimed at our country. It claims that the photo shows Usyk standing in line "in a government office in Spain."
The date of the photo and its location are not specified. However, it is known for certain that the day before Usyk went to the fight between Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and Francis Ngannou (0-0, 0 KOs) and has already arrived in Saudi Arabia. After the boxing night, Oleksandr will return to Kyiv to begin preparations for the fight with Fury.
Russian media started publishing "incriminating" materials about Usyk on a massive scale. They blamed the Ukrainian boxer for the deaths of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, without mentioning that it is Russia that has been waging war against our country for almost 10 years.
As a reminder, with the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Usyk returned from London to Kyiv and joined the territorial defense. The boxer's house in Vorzel was occupied by the occupation forces for some time. They organized a pogrom in the house, abused alcohol and demonstrated the essence of the Russian army.
Oleksandr speaks harshly against Russia, which makes Russians hysterical. In particular, former world champion Alexander Povetkin criticized the Ukrainian for his anti-Russian statements with the words "you can't say that". Later, he issued another portion of nonsense about our compatriot, who had "lost his mind".
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, famous Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Zakhozhyy spoke about the message of Russian Alexander Povetkin after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
