Russians strike at Konotop in Sumy region: power outage in town, mayor urges not to leave shelter

On the night of Thursday, September 12, an air alert was declared in a number of regions due to the missile threat and an attack by occupation drones. At the same time, powerful explosions occurred in Konotop, Sumy region.

There is no electricity supply in the city, and there are victims of the Russian attack, said Konotop Mayor Artem Semenikhin. He noted that several arrivals were recorded.

Konotop was attacked by Shahed attack drones.

According to the mayor, there is no electricity supply in the city because of enemy attacks on infrastructure. There are preliminary reports of casualties.

A fire broke out in the town at the place of arrival. According to Semenikhin, "there are not enough firefighters".

The enemy struck the center of the city, a residential area.

Semenikhin urged the citizens to stay in safe places as the attack continues. However, he added that the situation in the city is under control.

As OBOZ.UA reported, the air attack began on Wednesday evening, September 11. The Russians again launched Shahed-136 attack drones at Ukraine; the enemy UAVs flew into our country from the northeast and south.

Also, on the night of September 11, Russia launched another air attack on Ukraine, launching 34 air attack aircraft. Nine missiles and 25 attack drones flew at Ukrainian cities and villages at night. During the night battle , air defense forces destroyed 20 enemy Shaheds.
