Russians hit Odesa with ballistics from occupied Crimea: first details
In the afternoon of May 28, an explosion occurred in Odesa. At that time, a ballistic threat was announced for the southern regions from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The explosion was reported by Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov. Details about the consequences of the explosion in the regional center are currently unknown.
Thus, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned of a ballistic threat to the southern regions of Ukraine from the temporarily occupied Crimea at 16:19. Within minutes, the warning was made more specific.
"Odesa – take cover!" the Ukrainian Air Force called at 16:22.
Trukhanov made a similar warning.
"Odesa, please stay in safe places! Ballistics in the direction of Odesa region again!" he called at 16:21, reminding Odesa residents about the interactive map of shelters in the city.
A minute later, Trukhanov said that a powerful explosion was heard in Odesa, and at 16:25 he reported that the shells were launched again in the direction of the city.
Details on the consequences of the attack are currently unknown.
Meanwhile, at 4:48 p.m., the threat of ballistic missile attacks in Odesa region was reported to have been abated.
Earlier in the day, it became known that Russian occupants had attacked the outskirts of Druzhkivka in Donetsk region. Five civilians were injured in the attack. A child is among the wounded.
It is also known that the Russian shelling damaged about 60 private houses on three streets. The local administration noted that the enemy attacked the private sector, and the bomb landed on residential buildings.
