Russians attacked Dnipro with Shahed drones and missiles, hitting civilian infrastructure
On the night of February 12-13, Russian troops attacked Dnipro, launching several groups of Shahed-type attack UAVs. They were targeted by air defense forces and explosions were heard.
Missiles were also used twice, Ukrainian Air Force and monitoring channels said. The strikes on Dnipro were confirmed by Mayor Borys Filatov on Facebook.
"I hate it. They are trying to hit civilian infrastructure," he wrote.
Drones entered the city in groups from different directions, and the work of air defense forces was heard. After the explosions, one of the districts experienced power and internet outages, and in some places, heating was cut off.
Due to the power outage, a pumping station in the Livoberezhnyi-3 residential area was shut down. Water supply has been partially cut off, Dniprovodokanal reported.
Local media reported that a fire broke out in one of the districts after a series of explosions.
One of DTEK Energy's thermal power plants was damaged by enemy shelling in Dnipro and stopped producing electricity, the company said. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
"The attack severely damaged the company's equipment. The plant stopped producing electricity. After the shelling stopped, the power company began to eliminate the consequences and restore the equipment," the statement said.
