Russian warplanes have once again dropped a missile on the territory of their country. The other day, a strategic cruise missile X-101 of the air-to-ground class crashed in Kalmykia.

For this region, it was the second case during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. ASTRA reported on it (the authors say that the project appeared "as a reaction to the war in Ukraine and censorship in Russia").

Thus, fragments of an X-101 with a warhead were found in the steppe a few kilometers from the village of Pervomaisky in Kalmykia. According to the publication's sources, no one was injured in the incident.

It is noted that in early July, a cruise missile exploded in the steppe of Kalmykia near the village of Solone (about 180 km from the capital, Elista).

According to ASTRA's source, at the time, Russian police reported that it was a 3M14 Kalibr. The explosion left a two-meter-long crater and scattered debris around.

"Apparently, the missile was malfunctioning. There was no damage or casualties. And the X-101 cruise missile has already fallen in Kalmykia on February 1, 2023," the authors added.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, powerful corrected bombs that Russia uses to strike Ukrainian cities have also repeatedly fallen on its own territory. At least 38 of them were dropped by Russian pilots in the Belgorod region between April 2023 and April 2024.
