The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) intends to sell several seized assets valued at UAH 819.92 million. Assets of Russian origin account for the largest share of the total value. Among the large assets are iron ore briquettes worth UAH 494.9 million, as well as alumina in 90 railroad cars worth UAH 72.61 million. In addition, the agency received a court order to transfer the Russian tanker Nika Spirit for sale.

This was reported by the ARMA press service. They noted that the proceeds from the sale will go directly to the State Budget of Ukraine and to purchase military bonds.

"The Agency sees the expediency of changing court rulings from management to sale of assets where possible. During the war, it is difficult to find a manager for the elite and expensive property, and selling it at auction and directing the funds directly to the defense forces is more efficient for the state. Therefore, we are already preparing relevant appeals to the pre-trial investigation authorities and the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine," the statement said.

It is emphasized that the largest share of the total value is made up of assets of Russian origin. In total, they are estimated at more than UAH 593 million. In addition to those already mentioned, these are:

  • Iron ore pellets were placed in 215 railroad cars with an estimated value of UAH 25.9 million.
  • Pinewood is worth UAH 0.8 million.
  • Household items in the amount of 438 units worth UAH 3.3 million.
  • Asic Bitman Antminer electrical equipment in the amount of 538 units worth UAH 0.5 million.

"The sale will take place through the electronic system ProZorro. Sale, where all interested parties will be able to take part in the bidding," the ARMA said.

Also, according to ARMA Head Olena Duma, the decision to transfer the Russian tanker Nika Spirit for sale was made possible thanks to the initiative of ARMA and the request of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. Earlier, this asset was transferred to ARMA for management by a court decision.

The tanker Nika Spirit (formerly known as Neyma) was detained on July 24, 2019, in the port of Izmail. According to the international information system Equasis, the vessel with IMO number 8895528 was identified as the one used to block the Kerch Strait in November 2018.
