Tretiak spoke about the Russian national youth team

The President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, Vladislav Tretyak, expressed the absurd idea that the Russian national team was deprived of victory at the World Youth Championship, where it was not even allowed to participate. The three-time Olympics winner complained that the representatives of the aggressor country "were not given a chance to perform at such a high level."

Tretiak said this in a commentary to the propaganda news agency Match TV. According to him, Russia currently has one of the strongest youth hockey teams in the world and would definitely have reached the final of the championship, which ended last Friday with a victory for the United States.

"I think that the gold medals were just taken away from us - I have this feeling. Because we have really raised good hockey players who have played in youth and junior teams for many years, and have been to Sirius for training camps. We paid a lot of attention to these teams. But, unfortunately, they were not given a chance to perform at such a high level. If they had played at the World Youth Championship, they would have shown themselves very well. They would have played in the final - 100%," said Tretyak.
