Russia calls Usyk a Soviet boxer before Fury rematch
The former head coach of the Russian boxing team, Alexander Lebzyak, has told a lie that Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) is a product of the "Soviet school." The expert also expressed confidence that the Ukrainian is the favorite in the rematch with Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).
Lebzyak said this in an interview with the propaganda publication Sport-Express. The former coach of the Russian national team emphasized that after the first fight, the rivals got to know each other well, and Usyk's superiority in technique speaks in favor of him.
"As always, I will be rooting for Oleksandr. This fight will obviously be harder for both of them. They already know each other – both pros and cons. I think the fight may be less interesting than the previous one. In any case, I would give more points to Alexander. He is stronger in technique, in the classroom, and in the boxing school, more experienced than Tyson. He's still a supporter of the classical Soviet school of boxing, so he's stronger in technique and tactics than Tyson," Lebzyak said.
