"Remove Usyk": Fury's promoter speaks out about the situation in the heavyweight division
Frank Warren, the promoter of Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 23 KOs), believes that today the UK is the center of world heavyweight boxing. The head of Queensberry Promotions noted that the main star of the royal division is Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs).
Warren expressed this opinion in an interview with Sky Sports YouTube channel. The promoter of the Gypsy King, as Fury is called, emphasized that today it is possible to find worthy rivals for our super champion only among British heavyweight representatives.
"Remove Usyk and we are the epicenter of the world heavyweight division. These are great times. When I first started promoting, there were only a few really good fighters. But none of them became world champions. The Americans were on top. Look at it now. The British are everywhere! And regardless of who Usyk will fight next, one thing is for sure – he will fight a Brit. Because now 95% of the heavyweight division is made up of boxers from Britain. We're lucky to have them," Warren said.
It should be noted that Usyk's next opponent will be the winner of the fight between the British Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) and New Zealander Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs). The London-based boxer has already threatened the Ukrainian with revenge for his defeat in August 2023.
Last week, it became known that Usyk was going to be stripped of his World Boxing Council (WBC) belt. Alexander was also challenged to a fight by British veteran Dereck Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs).
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Oleksandr Krasiuk named the dates when Oleksandr Usyk will hold his next fight after two victories over Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs. In addition, it became known that the boxer himself left Ukraine.
