The area of the portrait is 24,442 square meters.

Children set a new record of Ukraine in the Odesa region. They created a portrait of Ukrainian Kobzar Taras Shevchenko. The unusual picture was made from 7,000 apples.

This was reported by the head of the National Register of Records of Ukraine Lana Vetrova on her Facebook page. The record was set in the Novopetrivskyi Lyceum of the Velykomykhailivska community (to view the photo, scroll to the bottom of the page).

"Children created a portrait of Shevchenko with their own hands. It took 7004 apples! The children also made words out of apples that are now symbolic for all Ukrainians. Keep fighting—you are sure to win," Vetrova said.

According to her, the area of the portrait is 24,442 square meters. The apples were harvested from the lyceum's own orchards.

"The varieties are Gala, Champion, Fuji, Golden and others. The National Registry of Records expresses its gratitude to the incredible team of record holders: teachers, lyceum staff, students, and parents. I don't even know how you will dare to disassemble this unique apple panel now," Vetrova said.

She noted that the lyceum's principal, Kateryna Laptienko, has already set several records.
