Putin recognizes Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine for the first time: Kremlin dictator's statement
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' strike on the Kursk region with western long-range missiles resulted in deaths. These are exclusively invaders from the Sever group.
This was officially announced by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. This is the first time that the Kremlin leader has publicly recognized Russian losses in the war against Ukraine.
The dictator said that military targets in the Bryansk and Kursk regions were attacked on November 19 and 21 by American and British ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles, respectively.
"In the Kursk region, one of the command posts of our Sever group was attacked. As a result of the attack and the anti-aircraft battle, there are, unfortunately, casualties, dead and wounded among the personnel of the external security units of the facility and maintenance personnel," Putin said.
He also noted that the command and operational staff of the control center was not injured and "is carrying out the normal management of the actions of the troops." The enemy did not achieve its goals, Putin emphasized.
Regarding the strike in Bryansk Oblast, he said that the falling debris of the allegedly downed ATACMS caused a fire in an ammunition depot, which was extinguished, "there were no casualties or serious damage."
For their part, the West claims that at least a North Korean army general was wounded in the Kursk region as a result of Ukraine's strike. It is not known who exactly, but a number of publications hint that it was most likely the DPRK's Deputy Chief of General Staff, General Kim Yong Bok, who was wounded.
As a reminder, it was General Kim Yong Bok who was assigned to command the DPRK troops in the Russian army.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, a strike was carried out with Storm Shadow missiles in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. This is the first time the Armed Forces of Ukraine have attacked military facilities in Russia with British cruise missiles.
The target of the missile strike was probably an underground command post of Russian troops, which could be used not only for communication but also for coordinating military operations. This was reported by Defense Express.
As a result of the Storm Shadow missile strike in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, at least 18 Russian occupiers were killed and 33 others were wounded. Among them are also North Korean mercenaries. In addition, it is likely that a Russian general was among the "two hundredth" or "three hundredth" – this is not counting the North Korean general.
