Putin may have visited Mongolia to meet with shamans, nuclear weapons were on the agenda – Der Spiegel

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin recently visited Mongolia to ostensibly commemorate the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Khalkhin Gol. However, the official reason for the Kremlin leader's foreign trip could have been just a cover.

Putin could have traveled to Mongolia to meet with shamans. Russian journalist Mikhail Zygar stated this in an op-ed for Der Spiegel.

In early September, Putin traveled to Tuva, known for its strong shamanic traditions. After spending a few days there, the dictator traveled to Mongolia. Moscow doubted that Mongolia is now an important foreign policy partner for Russia, so the dictator's trip was shrouded in new rumors.

Sources close to the Kremlin claim that the main reason for Putin's visit to Mongolia was a meeting with shamans. Rumors are circulating in Russia that the Kremlin dictator needs the shamans' blessing to use nuclear weapons.

The journalist's article says that without the shamans' consent, Putin could not take such a serious step for fear of "angering the spirits." It is also claimed that the dictator allegedly returned from Mongolia satisfied.

"However, this version sounds like a fantasy. None of my sources can confirm it. However, the meeting with Mongolian shamans allegedly took place," Zygar confirmed.

As a reminder, on September 2, Russian dictator Putin arrived on an official visit to the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. There he was magnificently greeted by an honor guard. The war criminal held talks with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh. The Kremlin claimed that the visit was connected with the 85th anniversary of the victory of Soviet and Mongolian troops over the Japanese army on the Khalkhin Gol River.

After the visit, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry emphasized that Mongolia, which did not comply with the ICC's arrest warrant for Putin, dealt a heavy blow to the international justice system. The country allowed the criminal to escape justice, thus sharing responsibility for his war crimes against Ukraine.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the Mongolian authorities, after ignoring the ICC arrest warrant for Putin, explained their decision by saying that their hands were tied. They say that energy dependence puts the country, sandwiched between Russia and China, in a difficult position.
