According to the Express, North Macedonia is such a hidden gem. It has been called the capital of "quiet tourism" and praised for its transport accessibility.

Since 2013, the number of Google searches for vacations in North Macedonia has increased by 183%. And it has a lot to offer vacationers.

The Kolešino Falls, which tourists call "magical," is the highlight of the country. This natural wonder is located in the forest, but it can be easily reached on foot. Local families love to have picnics near the waterfall.

North Macedonia, which is often overlooked by travelers, boasts one of the oldest and deepest lakes in Europe, Lake Ohrid. It is located on a mountain pass between North Macedonia and Albania. And some call it the most beautiful place in the world. Be sure to visit the magnificent Church of St. John, which rises above the lake and offers an incredible view of the reservoir.

By the way, the lake is easily accessible on foot. This both reduces costs for tourists and makes the area more environmentally friendly.
