Party in Tartus: the DIU tells what Russian military are doing in Syria while waiting for evacuation
The aggressor country Russia has begun to withdraw its contingent from Syria, using military transport aircraft to transport the remaining personnel, weapons, and equipment. While waiting for the evacuation, the Russian military are doing their usual thing – drinking and looting.
This was reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. The intelligence service noted that Russia is pulling the remnants of its military units from remote areas of Syria to bases in Tartus and Khmeimim.
To evacuate personnel from the Khmeimim airbase, the Russian Federation makes 4-5 flights of military transport aircraft daily.
"Those Russians who get to the evacuation sites usually drink and loot while waiting for their flight," the DIU said.
And Russia is bringing the remains of military equipment and weapons to the naval base in Tartus. To take it all out, the aggressor state's ships "Ivan Gren" and "Oleksandr Ostrakovsky" have already started a sea crossing.
"They are now in the Norwegian Sea, and are scheduled to cross the English Channel in a few days," the statement said.
According to the DIU, the Russian bulk carrier "Sparta", which left the Baltic, is heading to the Syrian port. The ship "Sparta II," which left St. Petersburg, is also planned to be used to transport military equipment from Syria.
"The commander of the Russian contingent, Colonel-General Alexander Chayko, ordered to repair the military equipment taken out of Syria," the intelligence service summarized.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, to retreat from Syria, Russia used a caravan of military transport aircraft to load the remains of troops, weapons, and equipment. An-124 and Il-76MD aircraft are scheduled to fly from the Khmeimim airbase to the "Ulyanovsk," "Chkalovsky," and "Privolzhsky" airfields.
