Only two lines: here is how Kyiv Metro may have developed in 1962. Unique map

At that time, there were no plans to build a line to Troieshchyna or Kharkivskyi massif

Back in 1962, the Kyiv authorities were planning a major development of the subway, which had already been operating for several years. Back then, they wanted to build only two lines.

The old photos were published on the Facebook page of the kievriddles community. The Kyiv subway started operating on November 6, 1960.

"1962," reads the map's caption.

In the published photo, we can see that the stations of some subway lines were planned to be built a little differently. In particular, this concerns the blue line - after Kontraktova Square, the next station was supposed to be Spartak Stadium, not Taras Shevchenko. At that time, there were no plans for a green line, let alone a line to Troieshchyna.
