Officially: Usyk's next opponent has been named

Oleksandr ChekanovNews

The winner of the fight between Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) and Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs) will fight a unification bout against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs). The future opponent of our compatriot will be determined in a fight to be held on February 22 in Riyadh.

This was officially announced by British promoter Frank Warren in an interview with Sky Sports. The head of Queensbury Promotions, which manages Dubois' affairs, emphasized that Usyk is currently the best boxer in the heavyweight division, and his ward and Parker are following after Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) finished his career.

"Usyk is the number one heavyweight in the world, the holder of three belts, Tyson Fury retired, so the number one and number two are fighting each other. These are the next two best heavyweights in the world who will step into the ring together and fight for a chance to unify the belts in a fight against Usyk. The winner of the Dubois-Parker fight will get everything. The loser will be very, very disappointed. It will be a terrific fight," Warren said.

Earlier it became known that our compatriot could be deprived of the World Boxing Council (WBC) belt. In addition, the promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk named the dates when the boxer will hold his next fight.

Usyk himself told us when he intends to end his career. Oleksandr also said that he is preparing to hold the most unusual fight of his career.

It should be noted that Usyk has already fought Dubois. In August 2023, the Ukrainian won by technical knockout in the ninth round, and the Briton scored a punch below the belt. After the fight, Dubois ' team appealed the result.

As reported by OBOZ.UA. media outlet, Oleksandr Usyk is planning to fight in Kyiv before ending his career. It is known that the Ukrainian plans to attend the fight between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker.
