NASA is looking for volunteers to participate in Mars life simulations: who can apply
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has opened a call for candidates to participate in the CHAPEA project. Its goal is to simulate life on Mars for a year.
The second of three ground missions will begin in the spring of 2025. OBOZ.UA has collected information about this project.
Candidates aged 30 to 55 must be fluent in English, have no bad habits or health problems, and have a university degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and relevant professional or scientific experience.
The project participants will live in a special isolated environment of 158 square meters at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. They will also work there. The work site will simulate a number of problems that astronauts may face on Mars, including resource constraints, communication delays, and equipment malfunctions. It is noted that the facility is equipped with 3D printing technology.
Those who are interested can apply until April 2, 2024. NASA notes that project members will receive a cash reward.
