Sunita Williams, who is stuck on the ISS, recorded a video from space. This is the first time the NASA astronaut has commented on her "frightening appearance".

According to 59-year-old Williams, she feels great and her weight is the same as at the beginning of the mission. Suni emphasized that she is working out diligently in the orbital laboratory, like all astronauts, to prevent muscle exhaustion, Space.com reports.

As a reminder, last week the media began to publish articles about Sunita Williams' health being a cause for concern. The media cited a doctor's opinion that the astronaut looks "thin due to a significant calorie deficit" in her latest photos.

However, NASA officials quickly denied these speculations, saying that Williams and the other three astronauts currently living on the ISS are healthy and feeling well.

These words were confirmed by Williams herself, who sent a recent video from the ISS. "I have the same weight as when I came up here," the astronaut emphasized.

Sunita also said that she works out diligently in the orbital laboratory, like all astronauts, to prevent muscle wasting and loss of bone density that can occur during prolonged exposure to microgravity.

As for the visual change in her body, it was influenced by athletics, says the NASA astronaut. She regularly exercises on an exercise bike, treadmill, and lifts weights on the ISS. "I can definitely say that the weightlifting I do has definitely changed me. My thighs and buttocks are a little bit bigger," Sunita said.

As a reminder, Sunita Williams and her fellow astronaut Barry Wilmore arrived at the ISS on June 6. Their mission was supposed to last 9 days. However, due to a malfunction, the Boeing Starliner spacecraft was unable to deliver them to Earth on time and the astronauts were stuck in space. Their return home is scheduled for February 2025.
