The former journalist made a frank confession

Former journalist Ihor Burbas said that doping in the bloodstream of Ukrainian Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk could have been caused by a stem cell injection. According to his sources, the footballer received a stem cell injection in the knee at the Ukrainian national team camp.

They serve to regenerate the body's cells, both healthy and damaged. This treatment ensures quick recovery from sports injuries and other traumatic conditions.

"According to the information I gathered, in one case, stem cells taken from a cow were used. Moreover, as far as I was told from the national team camp, the stem cells were from a cow or its blood. It is important that this cow could have had meldonium in its body, because it could have eaten it. So when Mudryk was injected with stem cells in his knee, they could contain meldonium if these cells came from the blood of a cow that had eaten it," Burbas said on his YouTube channel.

Ihor added that these injections were the only thing that was out of Mykhailo's normal schedule.

"It was different from everything that happened to Mudryk over the past year and a half. He has a certain regimen: he has breakfast, lunch, a workout, takes vitamins that he is given by Chelsea or the Ukrainian national team. I don't know what else he does, but his routine is clear," the expert said.

Mudrik, 23, played 28 matches for the Ukrainian national team, scoring three goals. He played two matches at the European Championships but failed to score.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Mudryk passed a positive doping test after one of the matches in late October, after which he stopped being included in his club's application.

Mikhail himself confirmed that the test showed the presence of a banned substance in his body. Our compatriot said he was shocked by the results because he had never used doping.

According to preliminary information, meldonium (mildronate) was found in Mudryk's sample. This drug, which has become particularly popular in Russia since 2014, is banned for use by athletes.

It also became known that Mudryk was suspended from training at the club's base in Cobham,

In one of her interviews, English sports lawyer Catherine Forshaw expressed confidence that the Ukrainian could end his career with the national team due to the doping scandal. According to Forshaw, not only his club but also the UAF may impose sanctions on Mykhailo.
